Black Lightning Premiere A Ratings Success For The CW

Surely an official press release is coming from the network, but it’s safe to say that Black Lightning was a successful launch for The CW, bringing in the best ratings for the Tuesday 9PM hour for a non-event in a long time. (Only the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow crossover event ranked higher).
This is considerably better than how No Tomorrow was doing at this time last year.
The initial overnight numbers — which can and will go up once DVR and other things are factored in, with the word of the mouth about the show being very positive — see Black Lightning at a 0.8/3 in the Ages 18-49 demographic and 2.31 million viewers.
The next episode of Black Lightning is called “LaWanda: The Book of Hope.” You can see a trailer and read more about it here.
